Veterans Open House

Rhinelander Veterans Day Event

In lieu of a Veterans Day ceremony in Rhinelander this year, the Oneida County Veterans Service Office is hosting a Veterans Day event at the Rhinelander Veterans Center, which is located at 1002 Coon Street, Rhinelander, WI (between Forest Home Cemetery and UPS). It will be held on Wednesday, November 11 from 9:00 am-3:00 pm. Tammy Javenkoski will be there to provide information to veterans, family members, surviving spouses, and care givers as well as information about the Northwoods National Cemetery, which opened on October 26.

Additionally, our local Veterans Service Organizations will be there to talk about what they do for veterans and our community and hopefully, recruit new members to join them. They will also be looking for new people to join the Honor Guard, which performs at veteran and non-veteran events and provides military honors at veterans’ funerals.

Unless there’s a medical reason for not wearing a mask, we request everyone wears one. For more information, contact the office or see our ad in the November 4 edition of the Star Journal.

Fall/Winter Chair Yoga Series

Learn the general principals of breath and movement using a chair for support in seated and standing postures. This class is suitable for beginners who are interested in gaining more flexibility, reducing stress, and improving your overall wellness. Wear comfortable clothing and feel free to bring your own blanket.

Meets Wednesday’s from 10:00 AM-10:45 AM

Class dates: October 7th & 21st & 28th, November 18th; December 2nd & 16th

Suggested donation to the Senior Center: $5 each session
